Heart Truth at MB Fall 2009 Fashion Week

The Heart Truth campaign is sponsored by the the U.S. National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) to help raise awareness of the nation's leading killer of women - heart disease. Once again their show kicked off Mercedes Benz Fashion Week.

Celebrities, rather than models, strut the stage in red dresses by various designers.  On the catwalk this year:

75-year-old Cicely Tyson in a voluminous dress by designer b. michael.  She looked great, but I think the dress was too much for her - looked like a choir robe.

Jane Kaczmarek looked amazing in a simple Michael Kors.  My favorite dress in the collection.

Jennie Garth also looked fantastic in Badgley Mischka...

...as did Hillary Duff in Donna Karan.

Katie Couric wore a Carmen Marc Valvo dress. She looked a bit uncomfortable walking down the runway - maybe someone should teach her to walk in heels.

Lynda Carter, in Carolina Herrera, still looks great at 57.  Except what's with her hair?

And Valerie Bertinelli looked pleased to be wearing Christian Siriano.

I was invited to attend this show, but unfortunately had not planned to be in NY on the 13th. Looks like I missed a good one!  I will be going to NY for Fashion Week next week and hope to see a few shows while I'm there.  Will keep you posted!
