The invitations to the Ports 1961 show that came in the mail were printed on paper folding fans, so I knew the port-of-call we'd be visiting this season would be somewhere in the Orient. (Last season's were pleated silk, and the collection was Indian-inspired.) Unfortunately, I was unable to attend this show inspired by Japan. The clothing was, for the most part, delicately colored, with soft folds and loose shapes, with some kimono-esque prints and angles reminiscent of a kimono's sleeve. These are my favorites from the collection.
The footwear was interesting. Some wore vinyl or organza ballet flats, others wore these knotted heels. Can't say they look all that comfortable.
