61st Annual Emmy Awards

It's pretty amazing to say that there were no real fashion disasters at the Emmy Awards last night. Oh, there were some looks that were not quite right, but for the most part, the ladies were elegant and the gentlemen were classy.

Although I really like the color of Sarah Silverman's dress, I don't understand the necessity of the floofy hip panels. If this showed up on Project Runway, Nina Garcia would have a field day.

And she'd have another with Kathy Griffin. The crunchy-looking skirt is such an awful contrast to the dainty - and casual - sweater. It really doesn't look like they should be worn together at all.

Jennifer Love Hewitt looks like she's going to a 70s prom. The dress isn't bad (nor is it good) but her hair is a mess.

The red J. Mendel gown paired with red lipstick is entirely too matronly a look for the still very young Hayden Panettiere.

It seems that Chloe Sevigny's Isaac Mizrahi gown wasn't appreciated by many other bloggers out there, but compared to what she could have worn, this is fabulous. Even if it does look like she pulled the sheers of the window at the last minute.

Leighton Meester's white Grecian-inspired Bottega Veneta probably needed a bit less makeup. She's such a pretty girl, but she's looking a bit trampy from the neck up (bold eyes and bold lips). The dress is fine though - I don't even mind the shoulder floofs.

Patricia Arquette looks like she's going to burst out of the top of her one sleeved-number. And think of how many accent chairs gave their lives for this gown. It looks heavy, no?

I'm torn over Christina Applegate's Basil Soda gown. While I like the color, I'm not feeling the weird draping treatment on the left shoulder. It all seems a bit overwhelming for a delicate blonde like Applegate.

Drew Barrymore looked radiant in her Monique Lhullier. I wish the color wasn't so pale and close to her skin.

Heidi Klum shows off the third-trimester baby bump in a custom-fitted Marchesa gown. But why didn't she wear Ramon's bowling bag dress?

I loved the strapless gown worn by Tracy Morgan's date. The intricate pattern is subtle and elegant. Gorgeous. And Tracy looks nice too. :)

I ♥ Tina Fey's black Gucci gown. I loved the drape-y neck (could have been even drapier) and thought the way the skirt hugged her body made her look nice and curvy. The only problem I have is that it's black, and Tina could probably wear any color and look fabulous.

Mariska Hargitay looked terrific in Carolina Herrera - sexy.

Kristin Chenoweth is so tiny and cute, and I'd bet her mirror-encrusted Zuhair Murad dress weighs more than she does.
