Metamorphosis

It appears that Victoria Beckham has started to morph from her normal plasticized state into something even more quasi-android. What the hell is she wearing on her legs? Black rubber leggings with cloven hooves shoes built in? Actually, they are Antonio Berardi thigh-high PVC boots...with 5 1/2" platforms and without heels. Berardi says the shoes are "perfectly balanced" and that heels are a psychological crutch.

Posh's devoted husband David had to keep an eye on her all evening to make sure she doesn't topple over backwards and land on her ass, embarrassing the both of them.

And creating the need for a different kind of crutch.

I'd love to see her hobble walk in these things.

Spring 09 Fashion Week - Victoria Beckham

Posh Spice has put out lines of jeans, sunglasses, fragrances, and now...dresses. Granted, they all pretty much look alike, are fitted to the extreme, and will of course not be cheap. But one can't deny that the styling is classic, and that this sophisticated look is one that is not going away anytime soon.

The first dress and its mate in black (not shown) are the loosest-fitting of the bunch. Get yer Spanx ready for the rest of them!

I like the black and white pattern on the first dress. It reminds me of snowflake obsidian.

Apparently several retailers want to carry the line exclusively; I'm betting that Target and J.C. Penney are not among them. The shifts and sheaths will retail from $1500 to $3600.

Vicky B got a haircut recently. It's cute, but I think she's got too much face showing now. Perhaps if it weren't so damn shiny? And of course her face is paler than her body, which just looks odd. What do you think of her new look?
