It's always nice to see a collection by designers who are not afraid to create eveningwear with a huge jolt of color. Rather than the usual collection of frothy neutrals (see Marchesa), Badgely Mischka broke out the sherbet hues - raspberry, orange, and lemon - using both solids and subtle prints to turn out a rather delectable collection. Here are my favorites.

NY 2010 Fall Fashion Week - Badgley Mischka
After a constellation of gowns came daywear with a modern geometric feel. It was as if two different designers were presenting on the same runway, which is almost the truth. Badgely Mischka presented not only their line of familiar sparklers so often seen on the red carpet but also their Mark & James line of contemporary fashions. An odd juxtaposition, perhaps, but all interesting, pretty, wearable.

Spring 2009 Fashion Week - Basso, Mizrahi, Lhuillier, Badgley Mischka
Fashion Week started in London so I'm leaving the world of New York shows with this collection of shots from four designers: Dennis Basso, Monique Lhuillier, Badgely Mischka, and Issac Mizrahi.
Dennis Basso - love the green dress, the patterning in the jackets, and the ruffly bits.
Monique Lhuillier's gowns are always stunning, and her fabric choices this season were especially so, reminding one of the beach, waves, and shells.
Badgely Mischka's collection was elegantly floaty and light and refreshing for the duo known for elaborately decorated and encrusted surfaces.
