New York Fashion Week Spring 2011 RTW - Christian Siriano

Project Runway alum Christian Siriano sent his Spring 2011 collection down the runway at Lincoln Center on the first day of Fashion Week, a few short hours after the season 8 Project Runway show. While he's definitely maturing as a designer and left behind the skinny pants/big shouldered silhouette of his early collections, he may be stuck in a fabric rut. I couldn't help but think of the lava-pattern he used extensively in his Spring 2010 collection. For 2011, there is a similar abstract quality, and a similar palette (blues and reds), plus his favorite neutrals.

Personally, I was wowed in 2010. 2011 leaves me yawning a bit.
