New Baubles

Here's my latest creation. The pendant is made of a piece of broken pottery (the triangular bit) and a boulder opal (the oval) with a wheel of turquoise at the bottom. The strand contains amazonite, amethyst, freshwater pearls, and glass beads. The pendant measures about 3" long and the strand is 20". The clasp is pewter.

A Little Self Promotion

I've been saying nice (or bad) things about other designers here for a while without putting in a plug for my own work. So I'm going to do that now.

This necklace is a short choker with six or seven boulder opals, some freshwater pearls, and various types of turquoise, strung with glass beads and an antique Chinese coin drop. You can buy it at Minx Bead Jewelry, along with a bunch of other pieces. :)

Red Necklace, to be more precise. I just completed this piece as a Christmas gift for someone....

Blue on Blue

Here's a commissioned piece I finished this weekend. I don't usually like to work with blue beads (or red, or black, for that matter) because they don't seem to have as much "oompfh" as other colors, but the customer requested it. Also requested was the cross pendant and the extreme length (the adjustable clasp allows the necklace to go from 25" to 29").

Materials used were lapis, sterling, several kinds of freshwater pearls, two small boulder opals, cloisonne beads, six shades of Miyuki delica glass beads, shells, and a sterling clasp.
