Spring 2012 RTW - Basso & Brooke

Pioneers in the use of digital imagery in fabric, Brit duo Basso & Brooke used some super large-scale prints in their current collection, giving more of the impression of color-blocking than usual. They also incorporated a tiny print in the background on some garments, giving them a more traditional printed-material feel. In other words, they were all over the place, but in a good way. There's also a bit more interest in the shapes of the garments themselves.

London 2011 Fall Fashion Week - Basso & Brooke

Let's forget the ugliness of recent days and look to the gorgeous digital prints of Brazilian/British designers Basso & Brooke, shall we? The clothes are fairly minimalist, and the prints say it all. My favorites are the landscape-like ones that remind me of close-ups of the Grand Canyon, or tree bark.

Just about every season, I post about Basso & Brooke and their fabulous digital prints. This year, I'm posting, but not feeling the fab like before. What do you think?

London Fall 2010 Fashion Week - Basso & Brooke

Designing duo Bruno Basso and Christopher Brooke never fail to delight me, and this season is no exception. Inspired by a trip down the Silk Road, East met West in B&B's own cacophony of digital pattern. The garments forms are simple, but the overall effect is quite complicated and striking.

London Fashion Week Spring 2010 - Basso & Brooke

Basso & Brooke did a collection that veered from wildly colored digital prints that resembled the work of Jeff Koons to more stark black and white pieces inspired by the photography of Herb Ritts. They also experimented with shapes and volume, playing with both body-conscious and more voluminous looks. I love Basso & Brooke; they are always a fun surprise.

The above might be my favorite piece in the collection.

Although I love this one too.

Here's a video interview with Chris Brooke discussing the collection.
