Cyndi Lauper does "edgy" and "rock-n-roll" while still managing to dress age-appropriately. But she's not Cher.

I wore almost this exact dress to my eighth grade graduation. In 1979. Jewel played it a little safe and matronly, but she's not exactly a show-off glamour-puss.

I suppose its fine for a modestly-talented individual such as herself because her music doesn't exactly inspire water-cooler conversation.
